This was a joint student project for SAE. I partnered up with Anne-Kristin Breit who at the time was looking for a motion graphics animator to work with her on the project. As it this was Anne-Kristin's Major Project for university, it was important for her to complete the project, and at the time I needed to complete an interdisciplinary outcome for my studies at SAE.
Working on the project was pretty cool, as this would mean I got to work on 2 projects that ended up being displayed on Yagan Tower.
For the project, I was tasked to animate a few different posters that Anne-Kristin had designed. As the Yagan Tower screen is positioned along a main city road, the animations had to be subtle and even "muted" on some of the sides. As for the rest, I decided to go with a nice subtle and somewhat whimsical expression in the style of the motion graphics as the posters where designed to be motivational and uplifting.
I took the 2 fonts that Anne-Kristin had used in her posters and animated each of the letters to
"flow-in" to the scene of the poster. This was a pretty fun learning curve, as I was able to arrange each of the letters onto the poster and have the sequenced exactly how I wanted in the animations.
Just one photo sadly, I wish I got more XD
